Majestic Villa Plantat, built in 1830, is situated in the Gard at the
foothills of the Cevennes on a beautiful 400 acre estate and vineyard.
Most particularly, Plantat boasts of its 1400 sq. ft spring-fed,
completely private swimming lake, which produces 7 million litres of
water each day from its three springs, keeping it crystal clear and a
comfortable temperature year round.
In the great house, there are breathtaking views from every window,
comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms, grand public rooms, terraces and
gardens. It is a fine place for groups of up to 13 to relax together.
You may request full or part-time help with shopping, cooking and
cleaning. Plantat is only 1.8 kilometers to shopping and restaurants in
the lovely village of QUISSAC where Robert Louis Stevenson finished his
book, “Travels with a Donkey”, and within close proximity to the
metropolitan cities of Montpellier (35 minutes by car) and Nimes (25
minutes by car), which have international air and rail links. Only 40
minutes to the Mediterranean by car, or 15 minutes to the two historic
villages of Sauve and Sommieres which are famous for their architecture
and markets, this is a place of both history and comfort. Indeed on the
property experts have found prehistoric caves. In the areas surrounding
Plantat are the best preserved Roman ruins in the world - truly
remarkable. |
Plantat is available for rental for periods of one week or more.
Rental Rate: $3900 USD per week. Security deposit: 50% of rental rate.
Remainder due 1 month before arrival. Damage deposit: $600 USD for
1-week stay, $900 USD for 2-week stay. End cleaning (to be paid to
housekeeper on site): 300 EURO. Mid-stay partial cleaning (for 2-week
stay): 150 EURO. Provencal Chef, babysitting services and massage
therapist are available for an additional fee and must be booked in
advance. |
